I was speaking with a fellow attorney at the Courthouse earlier this week who told me how much she enjoyed my campaign emails, she said they are like a blog lol. So I've decided to blog about the election and the campaign.
This past week I was endorsed by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Association of Educators. I'm very proud to have been endorsed by our teachers. My daughters both attended CMS schools for a large portion of their school years, and they are great "kids" - lol, they are 20. Judge Brooks and Judge Cureton were also endorsed.
I also attended the League of Women Voters Forum for non judicial candidates. It's amazing the things one learns at these events - did you know that the State pays the teachers and Sheriff's Deputies and Mecklenburg County pays a subsidy? I had no idea.
The League of Women Voters' Judicial Candidates Forum is in October, "watch this space" - to borrow a line from Rachel Maddow.
We've ordered yard signs. Please let me know if you want to display one for us and we'll get it to you. We've also ordered buttons, let me know if you want one or 20 to give to your friends, lol.
We raised some money and have had promising inquiries re: additional donations coming our way. As always, any help is appreciated.
I had a brief on the fly conversation with someone involved in my opponent's wife's efforts to remove me from the race, and based on that conversation, I believe her efforts continue. We will face those challenges as they come.
For now, I am super excited to canvass tomorrow with the NCDems!
More to come,
