Today I canvassed with the NC Dems. We weren't in my district but I'm still doing my part. We had our Sabrina Blain for District Court Judge tee-shirts on. At the Panera Bread on Fairview a woman asked me if I was on the ballot. Her words were "eerie". She said something like: "you're on the ballot?" or "so you're on the ballot"? I didn't know this woman. Why would she think otherwise when I'm standing with my tee-shirt on? She may be in my opponent's camp or has been speaking to someone in his camp. Also last Friday at a deposition my opposing counsel asked me: "are you back on the ballot?" and our friend and campaign volunteer Edwin Quarles heard that there is a great deal of misinformation out there - - purposefully or not, I don't know. But, I want to assure you that I am on the ballot, I've never not been on it. My opponent's wife and friends may still be trying to remove me from the ballot, but we believe the law is on our side and we will meet those challenges as they come. In the mean time, we are out shaking things up. Next weekend we canvass in our district. Join us?
Tomorrow, 9/24 at 7:00 p.m. I'll be at a candidate's forum at First Baptist Church on Oaklawn at 7 p.m. Come on out!
